Breen Sport Horses take on Bolesworth

This week was a very exciting one as Breen Sport Horses returned to Bolesworth International. It is always a great week travelling to Bolesworth and the team made the journey worth it with some great results.

On Wednesday, Trevor and new ride Caliber Royale were in the 3* 1.40. They had an unfortunate pole in the first phase but with the stallion landing in the stables only three days prior, it was definitely an exciting start for this new partnership. It was also great to have Old Lodge’s Jircarla T back in the international ring, strutting her stuff for 3rd place in the 7YOs.

After a quiet Wednesday, Thursday was a busy day, with Trevor, Caroline and Kate all competing. Trevor had a very successful day competing in the 3*s. First up, Caliber Royal jumped double clear in the 1.40m and finished 10th, whilst Dancing Wolf O.L. also jumped a great round in the same class for a steady double clear. Germaine W had an unlucky pole in the first phase of the 3* 1.45 but was still a great round from this mare. Caroline and Escapade H sadly had an unfortunate pole in the first phase of the CSIAm-A 1.25m, but Kilmastulla Douglas came out on top form in the 1.15m producing a brilliant double clear to land in 4th. A super start to the week for Caroline! Kate and Kvint also produced a great double clear in the 1.15m to finish 9th overall.

Friday saw many more successes. Caroline and Kilmastulla Douglas had textbook clear in the 1.15m to land in 4th. Along with Kate and Ironville WV who had an undeserving pole and some time in the 1.15m but an otherwise lovely round. Caroline also had the amazing Escapade H in the 1.25m who did an easy clear in the time to finish just out of the top 10. A great day for Caroline to celebrate her birthday! The highlight of the day went to Trevor and Dancing Wolf O.L. who had a brilliant and speedy clear in the 1.40m to finish 4th, a super result for this pair.

On Saturday Kate and Caroline were in the 1.15m once again and had some great rounds finishing just out of placings.

On the final day at Bolesworth, Caroline and Escapade H were in the 1.25m where they had an unlucky time penalty but was an otherwise brilliantly ridden clear round showing off the great form they’ve had all week. Trevor finished off the week with 7-year-old old Jicarla T who just had a green pole in the first round of the 7-year-old final – this mare definitely has a very promising future ahead of her.

A huge thanks to Bolesworth for putting on another great show, as well as to our whole team at Breen Sport Horses that make all of this possible!
